Hello… I was noticing on a couple online retailer’s websites that the upcoming SW UQS, (Luke & Han - New Hope, Vader, Obi-Wan - ROTS), along with the Han Bust Bank were all cancelled. I know you just showed Obi-Wan packaged the other day on the blog, so what’s the scoop on these lines? I hope they find a way to continue! I have collected all the UQS released so far and was very excited about the upcoming releases and what was coming in the near future. I picked up the first couple of banks and was very pleased w/ the sculpt quality of these as well. Hopefully you can provide some good news!!! Thanks for your time!

DSTChuck: Eric the Mos Eisley Han and Episode 3 Obi Wan will be coming out but that will be the last of them for a while. The line has not preformed as well as we had hoped.

Hello…. This is more of a response then a question, but I noticed in the blog on 7/21 where you discussed the SW UQS line being put on hold. (…with no mention of SW at the top of the blog either by the way…way to sneak that info through…), and it was suggested that you remove the voice chip…the response to that puzzled me greatly. The response was that it had been considered, but would not make the product distinct enought from what is already out in the marketplace. I guess my question is….What marketplace are you looking at? The only other figures of this size are Sideshow’s Premium Format at triple the price of your UQS. For me, this was the only viable option to collect figures of this size…there were no other options, so unless your looking at a different market then I am, that statement given in the previous blog, just makes no sense. If the line is going to end, I feel it would be nice for the individuals who have collected these to get a more truthful reason! /answer then that. I enjoyed the voice chip, but could have easily done w/o to keep the line going and hopefully increase profits on your end. I know this would have brought the production cost down considerably on these as well as the price point. For being such a cool line, I would have liked to have seen the “putting on hold” (which usually always means…the end of) status of this line handled a lot better since I’ve taken the time and money to collect every one of them and will still get Obi-Wan & Han (if they every see the light of day). I know it’s a business decision and I get that, but to just slip the news inbetween some Marvel questions (almost like you hoped it wouldn’t get noticed) to me shows a lack of respect to your loyal customers (and I do consider myself one). I work in sales and I trust me, I know how tough things are right now, but if you don’t have the respect of your customers, then you don’t have much and unfortunately won’t be around much longer after t! hat. Sorry to vent, I just really hate to see this line cut (as I’m sure you are as well) before it had a chance to take off (which I believe it would have w/ some of the releases that were on the horizon). Thanks for your time and maybe any further insight/detail you can provide on this. On another SW note..are the banks going to continue? I saw the Han bank has been cancelled on quite a few sites.

DSTChuck: Eric, I am very sorry and some of what you say is very true however that’s not how licensing works. Our Star Wars figure license requires the figures to have sound. The bank line is still going strong it just seems that fans did not respond to the human characters (or Corellian) as well as they do the armored in bank form.

DEAR DSTCHUCK, I WAS WONDERING HAVE YOU FOUND OUT WHAT THE NEXT MARVEL SELECT ACTION FIGURE GOING TO BE AFTER THE JUGGERNAUT IS RELEASED?

DSTChuck: James – Yes I do in fact now know the next figure in the line and it being sculpted right now – Gambit!

Agent 86
Spartacus: Blood and Sand! The show’s producer (Steven S DeKnight) wants action figures and so do I. Is there any chance that DST could approach Starz about making such a dream a reality?

DSTChuck: I love the show as do many folks in the office. For us it’s a wait and see how the show grows and the second season and prequel do before we would jump in there.
