Welcome to a new segment of Toy News International where we take a look at new soon to be released toys or toy lines that we think has real potential to become the "Next Big Thing". To kick this new segment off we will be taking a look at the new upcoming line of 6" Street Fighter figures from Sota Toys.

Sota Toys started in 1997 as a artistic resource for toy companies who wanted the State-Of-The-Art in sculpture and design, SOTA secretly had its fingers in many of the hit lines of the day like Toy Biz' Beta Ray Bill figure. One of Sota's first hits of their own was the Laura Croft Tomb Raider: Cradle Of Life action figures. The detail and articulation of these figures quickly grabbed the attention of fans for both the Tomb Raider movies and video games.

Now Sota toys brings us a new line of 6" action figures based on charcaters from the hit Capcom video game series, Street Fighter. The Sculpts for these figures are based on art from the new Undon Street Fighter comic, these figures will have multiple points of articulation including ball jointed neck, ball shoulders, ball hips, ball ankles, mid-foot hinges, wrist articulation, torso bend and more, putting these on par with that of Toy Biz' Marvel Legend figues articulation, and since these are in 6" scale like Marvel Legends, you can even re-create scenes from the Capcom Marvel vs. Street Fighter video games with these figures and your Marvel Legends. Series one shown above is due out in August 2004 and will include:

Ryu
Chun-Li
M. Bison
Sagat
Sodom

There is also a second series already in the works that is slated to include:

Ken
Vega
Cammy
Blanka
T. Hawk

and a San Diego Comic Convention exclusive 2-pack. So is this line of Street Fighter figures from Sota Toys "The Next Big Thing"? Let us know what you think by voicing you opnion HERE.
