Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. had officially green-lighted a animated-live hybrid action film for release in 2014. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs) are said to be on board to write and direct the film along with Chris McKay (Adult Swim stop-motion director), who will co-direct. Plot details for the film continue to remain a secret and casting for the live-action parts is expected to begin in January. More information for the film is said to be revealed next week during a at a press conference being held by New South Wales.

The movie will contain about 80% worth of Lego animation and Warner Bros. has brought on board Oz vfx-toon house Animal Logic for that task. The movie has been approved for an incentive from the Australian government and the state of New South Wales, which is why they will be holding the before mentioned news conference next week to coincide with the start of production.
