Ghostbuster fans, WHO YA GONNA CALL? How about LEGO!
LEGO has announced through their
CUUSOO program that Ghostbusters will be getting the LEGO treatment in the form of a 30th Anniversary set,
LEGO CUUSOO #007: Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary.
Here is LEGO's official announcement:
We’re thrilled to take the ECTO-1 and minifigure characters from Brent Waller’s Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary project and release them as the next LEGO CUUSOO set. This is an amazing model, and the set will be a fantastic representation of the cult classic film. Supporters know that Brent put a lot of love into this, and the final model, which we can’t reveal quite yet, will be largely based on his original car design. The final design, pricing and availability are still being worked out, and the set will be released later this year, so stay tuned!
Here was Brent's pitch:
June 7th 1984 saw the release of the blockbuster film Ghostbusters. To celebrate its 30th Anniversary in 2014 I present my rendition of characters Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore, their Ectomobile "Ecto-1" and the fan favourite ghost "Slimer".
The Ectomobile
Based on a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Ambulance, The Ectomobile or Ecto-1 is one of the most famous movie cars in the world, instantly recognizable even to those not familiar with the films. Decked out in all manner of ghost catching equipment and an over abundance of sirens, it's sure to catch the attention of any person, ghost or demi-god in the vicinity.
