TNI Reader Review: Lord of the Rings Return of the King Series 1 Figures By Brandon Miller

Toy Biz has made most Lord of the Rings fans and collectors pleased by bringing most of the characters from the three epic films. The regular (before the Trilogy series') Return of the King Series 1 consists of Eomer in Ceremonial Armor, Frodo in Orc Armor, Sam in Orc Armor, the Crossbow Uruk-Hai and the re-release of Helms Deep Aragorn. Below I will review all four of the previously unreleased figures!

Accessories: Eomer includes his sword and cloak, Frodo has an Orc helmet and sword, Sam has Orc helmet, sword, and Sting sword, and the Uruk Hai has his helmet, crossbow, and five arrows. All accessories are different and look very nice so more on that later!

Articulation: The new figures of Eomer, Frodo, and Sam all have similar articulation. They move at the ball jointed neck, ball jointed shoulders, biceps, elbows, wrists, waist, ball jointed hips, upper legs, knees, and ankles. The Crossbowman has regular moving neck, shoulders, left bicep, double jointed elbows, wrists, waist, ball jointed thighs, upper legs, double jointed knees, ankles move up, down and side to side! Odd articulation for the Uruk-Hai if you ask Me but it all works out even though he has an action feature to shoot the cross bow!

Durability: All of the figures are sturdy and are made well! Good job by Toy Biz!

Packaging: The packaging is awesome looking in My opinion. Its large, it is very attractive and it really makes the figures looks great as well! It has a flap but I was disappointed that the only card that had a picture from the movie was the Uruk-Hai warrior. On the back it has the character's story and the figures to collect in the series. I really prefer this kind over the current Trilogy packaging.

Paint: All have good paint jobs but do watch out for Eomer as some has a black blotch on his nose. Frodo and Sam all look good and the villain of the series, the Crossbow Uruk-Hai has excellent eyes! He really looks mean! Everything from the armors and Eomer's cape all look great!

Sculpting: the sculpting is marvelous once again! Eomer looks just like the real person, Frodo and Sam has excellent likeness' and the Uruk-Hai looks unbelievably real! All of the armor and weapons are fantastic looking! I am so amazed how real they look! Truth is I don't know what else to say about this!

Overall: If you are a LOTR fan and/or collector these figures are a must buy despite the paint issue on Eomer. All four of these figures have a tremendous amount of articulation with a number of accessories and some of the best sculpting! These figures will look awesome in your collection!
