Castlevania: the movie is coming

CRYSTAL SKY PICTURES and Writer/Director PAUL ANDERSON, (ALIEN VS. PREDATOR, RESIDENT EVIL) join forces to bring CASTLEVANIA to the big screen.

Set in gothic Transylvania, CASTLEVANIA is the story of the Belmont Clan, a family of nobles born into vampire slaying, who have become Europe’s last hope against the dark legions that threaten human existence.

“CASTLEVANIA,” created by Japanese videogame giant Konami (SILENT HILL, METAL GEAR SOLID), is a long-running and highly successful videogame franchise, having sold in excess of 20 million units worldwide. First released in 1986, CASTLEVANIA is still going strong with the latest edition, CASTLEVANIA: CURSE OF DARKNESS, coming out in the US this November 8.

The movie will begin pre-production in 2006. it is not yet known if it will use an original storyline or will be a movie based on one of the many Castlevania games. The latest Castlevania game is due for the PS2 next week.
