According to entertainment news site IESB.net, Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards is set to star in the tentatively titled Disney threequel Prates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Rumors about Richards portraying the father of Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow surrounded production of the current Pirates adventure, but writers Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio told reporters at the this weekend's press junket, "Keith Richards was never intended to be in Pirates 2. He is supposed to be in 3. Johnny wanted him in but there was just no room in the story in 2. But there is in 3." Writers and producers, however, would not disclose whether or not Richards would play Depp's dad. Two-thirds of the next installment has already been shot. Filming is expected to resume by summer's end.
