Nothing is going right for Paramount this year because the newest problem they are having is with the Michael Bay-produced Ninja Turtles reboot. The studio has pushed back the start date by 10 weeks to try and cut the budget down to $125 million. With the start date pushed back, it also means the release date is getting moved from Christmas 2013 to May 16th, 2014.
Paramount was all excited about the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie that they hired the Iron Man writing team of Art Marcum and Matt Holloway for close to $1 million for a fast-tracked live action feature film to be released in summer 2012. Paramount wanted to make TMNT into its next huge franchise like Transformers. But problems happened and the release date was pushed back to December 2013 and now it's being pushed back again to May 16th, 2014 if the studio’s cost target is achieved.
