We told you last week during the San Diego Comic Convention how Playmates Toys was planning on releasing a new line of retro Turtles toys under their Classics Collection banner. These toys would be re-releases of the vintage TMNT figures and vehicles from the 80's and 90's. Well now
Toys R' Us as those toys up for pre-order slated for an August 27, 2013 release date.
The have the original 4 Turtles figures along with Shredder and Splinter as well as the original Turtle's Party Wagon and two Turtle Mechs. The figures cost $12.99 each and the Van is $59.99.
The figures and vehicles come packaged in vintage type packaging just like the original toys did. On the top right corner it says Vintage Collection and on the back it has the modern Nickelodeon TMNT logo, but otherwise the packaging is very true to the original Turtles line.
It was said at SDCC that a Krang and FOOT solider would also eventually be released for this Retro line. It was never said these would be a TRU exclusive and there is no indication of that on the TRU website but most likely that is where this Retro line will be found, at least initially.
