i've been in the mood to pick up a battle shell leo so i went to TRU, Target, WM, and Bennys and found NOTHING!!! TRU was the only store to have ANY of the TMNT figures in stock and all's they had were three of the first wave leo. Nick TMNT must have been a hot toy this Christmas! i was just in those stores less than two weeks ago and they were over stocked...now...nothing - wow!

I'm giving a set of these away on my YouTube page.

For looks, I prefer the first set. For articulation, I prefer the battle shell turtles. I know the articulation points are the same, but the range of motion is much better on the battle shell turtles. Would still like to have double jointed knees, but I'm pretty pleased with them how they are.

overall i like these figures. from literally head to toe, these figures are more accurate to the cartoon than the previous set. the storage shell is really cool. the only flaw (and to me it's a pretty big one) is the ugly, boxy forearm joint they have. i doubt the sculptor purposely made them like that because they don't fit the rest of the sculpt what so ever. i'm guessing it was a late change to allow for improved posing. those forearms stand out like a sore thumb. i considered getting a set, but i just can't get passed those ugly arms

i still feel that the original set is the best

after further review, i dont feel so negative toward the boxy forarm as i did previously. i took a closer look at the characters arms on the toon and they too seem a little on the boxy-ish side. i went back to the figures and took a second look and they did not look as wonky as i had thought either. i still prefer the 1st wave of turtles, but this second wave is pretty sweet too for different reasons.

and that is why I hate them, and looooooooooooove the first set

Just reviewed Battle Shell Raphael: Battle Shell Raph

I'm not really digging these. I love the shell feature, but everything else seems like a step backwards from last year's release of the basic Raphael.

I dunno.. I like the toon, but I'm happy with the 4 from series 1, I'll leave these on the pegs for the kids. My friend will love these though, as his kids always loose the weapons.
