Oh I wasn't thinking straight up pirates in that sense, but a re-use of that coat. Also the Ironskull figure is about as "pirate" as you could want. I note he has soft goods pants, perhaps they will one day do soft goods coats of that nature. All in all though this is a great looking wave.

No pun intended.

Correction: those aren't soft goods pants. I thought they looked like Ganesha's pants, just recolored, but closer look says they're plastic like the rest.

Awesome!!! MUST HAVE! I am so glad they are continuing the egyptian gods - there have been really no affordable egyptian god action figures before, save for Ramses: The Golden Pharaoh.

Just when you think you know what to expect from Figura Obscura, we surprise you! After all, the name Figura Obscura was meant to mean secret figure, which is a perfect moniker since we dropped a secret Figura release at LegionsCon 2025!Continuing the Gods of Ancient Egypt theme that we began last year with our Anubis and Bastet figures, we have now added the god of writing and knowledge to the group the ibis-headed THOTH!Thoth comes with 2 different heads (one organic and one that is statue-like), 2 different top attachments for his heads, 2 Was-sceptres, a writing tablet, an ankh, and extra hands and feet including both human feet and avian talons. Thoth also comes with a recreation of a real-world antiquity from ancient Egypt.

The Figura Obscura: Thoth figure displays great alongside Anubis and Bastet, creating a trio of deities from the Egyptian pantheon. While Thoth made his debut at LegionsCon 2025, he is not exclusive to the show. The Figura Obscura: Thoth figure will be available at StoreHorsemen.com sometime in 2026 as an in stock item. If you are at LegionsCon this weekend, however, you get the first chance to add the newest Figura Obscura surprise to your collection!

I don't care whether I pay up front or not. But I do completely lose interest after 12+ months. I was drifting away from collecting when Hasbro and Mattel were having those kind of timelines in 2021 and 2022. I've enjoyed getting back into a more regular schedule. These third party companies can make interesting things, but I just have trouble getting into lines that have one release a year (at best).

This is one of my biggest issues with it too. I just can't bring myself to care anymore about figures that are coming out 2 or 3 or 4 or more years down the road. I don't really want to support something that is coming out in 6 months. If I have disposable income to spend on stuff like this, I want to spend it on something I get right now, and there is plenty of that out there, and if there wasn't, companies like the Four Horsemen probably wouldn't even be able to exist in that sort of economy. But that's where we are currently headed, if not there already. This is not a world for unknown companies to come forth with Kickstarters or preorders that might ship three years from now if you're lucky. That opportunity is gone, for a whole lot of people, or will be very soon. Maybe 4H can ride it out, maybe not. And maybe I'll get these figures, or maybe not.

But I'd have been an easy sell a few years back. At one point, I think I had 10 different unfulfilled projects from the Four Horsemen, things I'd paid up front for but was still waiting for a shipping date. I think they're down to 4 or 5 now, since I stopped funding them up front, which was still a while back. Maybe one day I'll get to the point that I'm not fronting cash for someone else's business model.

If you're only buying one figure the $4 BBTS shipping v. the $10 or so 4H shipping (I live close to them, so your quotes could be higher) can wash out. But the markup on these figures is pretty high at BBTS and other "authorized retailers." I notice now that 4H advertises you get a "discount" buying from them, as though the marked up BBTS price is the real price. That's kind of funny.

Well with BBTS and other retailers, we have been lucking out on discounts for old stock. Unless you are really worried it will sell out immediately, chilling with BBTS isn't as much of a markup in the end. Just don't worry about the pre-order and wait a while for prices to slash.

The 4H really do need to speed up their process though because the speed at which other companies dipping into the same fantasy genre with multiple figures is leaving them vulnerable to cancellations. By the time these figures come out, the wow factor has moved on to more recent releases. At least now the decline in Star Wars stuff is ceding more territory over to their Cosmic Legions line, but I can tell it still won't be as popular as their Mythic brand.

Here's the major concern that dare not speak it's name: how badly did that video game debacle hurt their business?

If you are following the news coming out of LegionsCon today you likely have seen that we dropped a few special figures for sale in the 4H Figure Fair store! The first of those figures is an extension of the recently revealed Dawns of Discovery wave the Amuurian navigator, QOI!Qoi was the narrator in the ship logs that we posted earlier this week and which provided a teaser for our new wave. His name also appeared in the bio for one of our new Fishers Guild characters, placing him as one of the crew with the rest of our Fishers in the Dawns of Discovery story.

Qoi comes with a brand-new head and second face plate (helmeted) to change up his look, new webbed feet and hands (including extra hands), a new neck piece, back fins, and tail. He also includes a harpoon, sword, and gourd accessories as well as removable shoulder armor and a wired soft goods skirt.Qoi made his debut at LegionsCon 2025 where he is available to con attendees early! For those who did not make it out to the show, do not fret Qoi will be available as an in stock item from StoreHorsemen.com sometime in 2026!

Yeah my main issue now is paying for stuff a year or so in advance. I don't mind things like the Dragon but regular figures.....nah. Like I said I should have mine before retailers if I'm paying from them.

That's why I stopped buying direct from them being places like Nerdzoic, BBTS and many others got their stock before I got my direct orders. with the price of shipping now it's sometimes cheaper to buy when they drop also.

Try 2-3 years. Or more. They haven't had a preorder ship in 12 months in years.
