AEW And Jazwares No More?!?

by Jay Cochran

Rumors have been running rampant on the internet since September of last year saying that Jazwares was loosing or had given up the license to make action figures based on AEW All-Elite Wrestling. Jazwares had originally gotten this license back in 2020, but since then the companies primary focus has been on things like Pokemon and Squishmallows.

Adding fuel to the rumor fire that Jazwares will no long be doing AEW figures is a recent report made by toy youtuber and influencer Kyle Peterson who this weekend said that Jazwares had recently laid off everyone who worked on the AEW brand.

There has been no official word from Jazwares at this time on any of this, but it's not unusual for a toy company to be quiet when they loose a license.

To me the real question I've had since these rumors about Jazwares and AEW parting ways started last year isn't about Jazwares, but will any other toy company seek out the AEW license to make action figures, or is AEW just not attractive enough and have enough visibility in the mainstream public to really warrant any reputable toy companies serious attention???

I half expect Ringside Collectibles to take over the license under their Unsanctioned line...

Disappointing news. I was hoping for more 80s Stings.

Someone will pick up the AEW. Not a mainstream line, bu someone. Maybe the guys that mate non-wwe legends deal figs Pinnacle I think they're called. Their stuff is solid. Just look at their Brian Pillman

Zombie Sailor Toys is the company; and while they produce excellent figures they do not come cheap and dont have large scale distribution.

Based on those factors I could see Jakks picking it up. Hopefully they would be able to produce something approximating what Jazwares has, not to mention their history with wrestling toys.

My preference would be Jada. 10-16 nice figures a year would be excellent.

If only Jazwares made a Toni Storm figure with accurate proportions. Couldve been a game changer

Youre in luck. The AEW figures look to be in scale with Mattel WWE.

They very impressive... If this company is going to also produce GI Joe figures then I see really good merchandise coming up...

Which is why I skipped on those McFarlane DCs and Anime figures. Looks like they are more in scale with DC Direct or Marvel Select which are not my favorites. I'm looking forward to the Bandai anime figures which are in the 6.5inch scale.

If these figures are in scale with WWE I will be All in. But if not I'll have to pass. Can't have the Young Bucks be as tall or taller than the Undertaker.

These actually look impressive. Jaz wares may be a company to watch closely now.

Many people want these figures to be in scale with Mattel WWE, but it might not necessarily happen. New toylines or companies getting new licenses often want their products to be their own rather than piggybacking of existing lines, even if it alienates some collectors. Many people wanted McFarlane DC to be in scale with 6" DC Multiverse and Marvel Legends, but he went a different route with 7" figures.

It seems like they seriously determined to up their game, these figures look really good, and it seems like they even have ball jointed waist,
