Ha! They have little snap off accessory trays like the original Ninja Turtles toys, I only ever thought I'd see those in nostalgic TMNT figures.
Shown below are some more new images of the new DC Comics Core Series 1 Figures featuring Flash, Robin, Batman and The Joker from Mattel. When more information is available we will be sure to let you know and please remember these are from the children focused line and should be around $12.99 each when hitting retail.

The first time I saw the Jim Lee designed costumes, I could tell they wouldn't last. No artist was going to draw all those extra lines forever! They're as dated now as pouches from the 90's are...

I do like having the Jokerized heads as accessories with the Joker.

I hope kids like these figures.

Or maybe the MOTU core should have been 6.5 too? If its aimed at kids youd think theyd get their three big boy properties to be in the same scale for cross playing (DC core, MOTU core and WWE basics).
Maybe well get DC 5.5 origins figures before McFarlane is done or is that considered collector?
I fail to see the incentive for collectors to get these knowing even better ones are right around the corner other than being desperate for non-McFarlane lanky sculpts.
Mattel probably isn't too worried about collectors at all with these initial offerings - it's the kid-focused line like Spin Masters' were, so any collectors getting into them is a bonus rather than a main consideration. I do like they they're apparently treating them a bit like the WWE line in that they're supposed to be scale compatible with the collector line.
I wouldn't be surprised to see some form of DC on MOTU Origins bucks at some stage over the license. Mattel have pumped the heck out of those bodies, so it'd be stranger to *not* see them used in one form or another with the DC characters at this stage, but I imagine that won't be until after the full switchover in 2027.
I honestly don't get why Mattel have split their MOTU lines as much as they have. They should have stuck with Origins style for the 'core' movie release and Chronicles for the collector line rather than introduce a third scale that doesn't really work with anything and will likely only exist for covering this movie's release lifecycle.

Agreed. Im really hoping Mattels collector line will give us a classic 80s style Batman.

If that Joker is any indication, then Mattel is really hitting the ground running with mismatched paint and plastics. The knees on that Joker are way off from the rest of the pants... crotch piece too.
They've been doing this for years with their WWE figures with heads, torsos, arms & legs that don't match, and it looks like series freakin' 1 of these DC figures are carrying on that tradition, straight out the gate.
It's great to see these carded. They look really fun.
