Details For Hasbro's Rumored 6" Ghostbusters Action Figures

by Jay Cochran
January 30, 2020
As you probably know, Hasbro took over the Ghostbusters license this year. With that we have some rumored details to share with you about a line of 6" collector oriented figures for the property they will be releasing. Keep in mind that these have not been officially confirmed by Hasbro at this time, though we will likely see these on display next month during Toy Fair.

The first wave we are told will contain 6 figures and a Build-A-Figure. Two of the figures in the wave remain unknown, but the other four will be based on the original Ghostbusters (Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz, Peter Venkman and Winston Zeddemore) from the first movie. Again, because this has not yet been confirmed by Hasbro, we will treat this as rumor for now.

We had a lot of Ghostbusters figures, Hasbro really needs show their best game to outshine DST and Mattel, and I bet additional articulation and Faceprinting tech will give them much advantage.

Face printing tech sound good but in practice it is not that good IMHO, the details of the print are not so well defined, they tend to blur and in other cases the figures seem to suffer from strabismus, it can be either hit or miss. Thee only thing that would give Hasbro advantage is the film itself and the fact it has more precency in retail than DST, nobody remembers Mattel GB.

The Real Ghostbusters is the cartoon. The original Ghostbusters from the first movie is just that.

Oh ok thanks for the clarification JayC.

I've got every figure from the Diamond Select line except for one and completely love them. Gonna take a lot to top those figures but I'm down for just about anything Ghostbusters. Highly looking forward to these.

I only have the first wave of DST which had a ton of QC issues and if these are anything like Hasbro's other 6" lines, the articulation and joint construction I imagine will be superior to the DST. The big question is what the BAF be. The DST dioramas were pretty cool.

I'll have to see more before I decide to buy into this line. I thought the DST ones looked good but from what I have heard there was quite a few of quality control issues, let's see if Hasbro fares better.

I am not a big Ghostbusters fan but this interests me and seems to be a good time to get in, however I am already looking foward too many lines, maybe I have to stretch my budget a bit. Perhaps once I see the figures I could made my decision. I wonder what the BAF figure could be, maybe another Stay Puff Man.
