The entire marketing push for tron around ares feels really weak quite frankly. This is The Walt Disney Company and (at least for a time) they could sell anything! Ik legacy was 15 yrs ago but they pushed that movie really hard back then. Like a few users pointed out there's hardly any toys based on Ares which is odd and disappointing. I think the whole tariffs thing made the toy production so expensive that hasbro is trying to cut their losses and only push what they know will sell or they're waiting to see the reception first. Aside from the contractually obligated marvel legends, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is only now releasing the kids toys. Several months After the film's release! I also find it odd they're picking the old films only.. perhaps they didn't think Ares was toyetic enough? Or the main character being named after the Greek god of war was too hard of a sell for children? (Even wonder woman chickened out on Ares merch for the most part). Also seeing Ares's failure in the box office and what seems like a failure for the haslab project. I think the fan base isnt big enough sadly as Disney waits too long between releases to maintain any momentum. Regardless. I hope these figures do get released and the plug isn't pulled before then. Sam and the light cycle look cool and I'm liking how rinzler/Tron is looking.
If this ends up being a one-and-done line, then I'm okay with that, though a little bummed if we don't get a Rinzler to go with the rest. Made-to-order would work since I don't think we've ever seen them pull one of those after they've been offered, as opposed to a HasLab offering. I'm still shocked that this was even considered given that it's not an Ares line in stores to coincide with the movie, so I imagine they've got their expectations set accordingly for a solely collector line, unlike other media-supported mass retail lines.
The figures look really nice to me! I want 'em!

You can check out Dwight's recent images for these along with our images of the figures on display at NYCC below. So what exactly do we know about these upcoming figures? Well to be honest not to much. Hasbro has been pretty tight-lipped so far on specifics for these figures in regards to when they will be made available and how much they will cost.We know they will be releasing 1/12 figures of the main characters from the Tron: Legacy movie including Kevin Flynn, Clue, Sam Flynn, Quorra and Tron. We know the figures will have various accessories including alternate heads, hands and identity discs as well as disc throwing effects. We know the figures will incorporate Hasbro's "pinless" sculpts and should have articulation on par with Hasbro's other 1/12 action figure lines. We know one of the people who has been working on the line is Marvel Legends brand team member Dwight Stall. We know they have one 1/12 scale Lightcycle vehicle from the movie coming as well.At NYCC it was said these figures would only be available on the HasbroPulse website. That likely means these figures will have a much more limited-release than figures at mass-retail which often means the prices will be higher than general retail figures. Hasbro's current standard 6" collector figure MSRP is $28.99. So that would be the lowest price we could see these figures priced at, but likely the figures will be priced higher than that, again due to the nature of their limited-release.Some have speculated Hasbro might choose to offer these using their "Made-To-Pre-Order" model which means they would be offered with a limited pre-order window at some point on Pulse and then released approximately a year later. The good news is if they go that route you wouldn't be charged until they actually ship. The bad news is they would likely sell all the figures and lightcycle as a set and not individually. The other downside to made-to-pre-order is, if Hasbro didn't get enough orders during the pre-order window, they would likely scrap the whole thing. As I mentioned before, Hasbro currently is headed to the Lucca Comics & Games 2025 convention in Italy, but I wouldn't expect much in the way of additional details for these Tron figures to be made public at that event. The focus at Lucca is going to be Marvel and Star Wars with a panel taking place this Thursday (10/30) at 5:10am ET. We of course will be bringing you full coverage from that show and if or when more details become available for these figures we will be sure to update you here.
The Clu figure actually looks like a pretty good young Jeff Bridges, but the eyes on that Kevin Flynn figure are so bad, it actually makes him look more like John Hurt.

Probably do better than the D&D movie collection fodder, but not as good as the Indiana Jones stuff. Notice I'm ranking it between two dead lines. But that's just my prediction. It's not like we'll ever know the sales figures. Only real metric we'll have will come from observing how many waves they put out before throwing in the towel.
I would be shocked if these were not almost dead in the water upon arrival, like I don't want to be the pessimist, but if like you say D&D, Indiana jones and even Fortnite, Overwatch, Power Rangers... with the last 3 lines having been pretty popular at a point all got the let go because of lower sales, this line isn't going to do it, Even yes D&D movie figures were destined for failure, nobody cared instantly and that movie was well recieved of course they only got made because Hasbro wanted to pump a flailing line up that had been concieved on the notion the Game figures and Cartoons figures would be hits which I'm sure they did decent, but if not those movie figures would never have been put into production, People actually really wanted Indiana joes, and he had some fairly deep source material to pull from, 5 movies, video games, tv, Tron legit has 2 movies, where most of the characters all look the same at that, and a 3rd new movie that nobody has any feelings for, not really fairing well off the jump.
I hope not..but if you can't sell power rangers anymore, or fartnite to the kids, or even what was a massive hit overwatch...you ain't doing much with tron, sorry not sorry.
The 1/12 Tron Legacy figure are cool. I like the lightcycle.I do hope they make 1/12 scale figures based on the original Tron movie. I always liked the aesthetic of the original more than the sequels despite the low budget effects.

I think it was a lofty idea to go so headfirst into a Tron figure line...I just really don't see it being a big slam dunk for Hasbro.

Oh here we are with the Tron 6'' collector figures, actually not bad to look at, but also some questionable face likenesses going here, sure I know who these people are...but are they? like Olivia Wilde is kinda there...Garrett Hedlund is more not...Jeff Bridges sure..but also why so darn sad?

I would imagine that they're far enough along that they'll get released. There does seem to be a resurgence of interest in Legacy, even with the flop of Ares, so I think there's a good chance. I just worry about where and for how much...
