No G.I. Joe Haslab For 2026

Hasbro's Bmac tonight has posted ahead of tomorrow's G.I. Joe Fanstream news that they will not be offering a G.I. Joe Haslab this year.

We will be hearing more about why they won't be doing a Haslab during their SDCC panel in July. We have been getting G.I. Joe Haslabs since 2021.

I don't think this should really surprise anyone who has been paying attention. In fact I am not sure if Hasbro is planning on doing any Haslabs this year.

Bmac goes on and confirms that the Cobra Commander with Throne we saw images leak out for today will be a Fan-Channel exclusive that goes up for pre-order tomorrow at 1pm ET. He also confirmed the crown is removable on the figure. This will be available at places like our sponsors BigBadToyStore, Entertainment Earth and Nerdzoic. If Cobra Commander sells out then they are planning a second production run for it.

He goes on to say they will be doing product and render reveals every week this month and will have a surprise reveal tomorrow during the Fanstream at 11am ET for something that has not had a name reveal yet. They will be launching a total of 14 pre-orders over the course of this month.

Check back for more details on everything shown during the Fanstream.

That would take too much effort on Hasbro's part. Cheaper to just have a copywriter paraphrase the existing filecard as they're cutting it down to the length for this profile than pay a creative to actually come up with something new. It always comes down to money...

You're giving them too much credit. At this point I'm pretty sure they are just AI. Heck. I'm still salty about them releasing Kir Kanos as Carnor Jax in the black series because nobody there has any frigging clue about the actual characters or lore.

Would have made more sense to say he collects the oddities he finds on the ocean floor. Something to the affect of, "the things people loose over the side of ships always make it to the bottom. Deep Six collect the most interesting."

It's straight from the whimsy of the original 80's filecards, so it suffers from the same 'the times have changed' issues that sometimes hits characters that were established more than four decades ago. That said, in a world of thrifters and secondhand goods (which, in itself is probably about half a decade out of date from that trend's peak), there's a lot of weird stuff people collect. My dad used to collect phone cards for a hot minute there and were only useful items for a few years back in the early 90's...

Really liking the Deep Six bio. Anyone find it weird he collects bottlecaps? It's an odd thing to collect in the age of plastic generic caps for soda, cans for beer and most bottled beer just being generic. I mean that's what Bert collects.

I can tell you first hand that a lot of people feel the same for us collecting action figures man... For that reason I don't judge what ever people wants to collect!???

I actually really like the Stealth Viper. I wish the Crimson Viper had looked like that. I'm not going to buy it, but it's probably my favorite not-classic-colors Viper.
