2012 Toy Fair: Bandai - ThunderCats Or Lack Thereof

I've been covering Toy Fair for over 10 years now, and one thing I have learned over the years is that it's usually not a good sign when a company has nothing new to show at it. You see Toy Fair is an event meant to let toy companies show off their NEW product for the coming year to perspective buyers, IE the retailers. So when a company has nothing new to show, well we will let you do the math.

I mention all this because when we attended the Bandai showroom this week for Toy Fair we discovered they had nothing new to show us for their ThunderCats line. Everything that was on display was product already out on store shelves. When we asked the folks at Bandai about new product we were simply told, "we have nothing to comment on at this time."

So what does this all mean? Well honestly we don't know. We certainly didn't leave Bandai with a good feeling about the future of the ThunderCats line, but it doesn't necessarily mean the line is done either. One thing we do know is, we have nothing new to show you this week for this line. We were also told an announcement should be coming soon from Cartoon Network about when new episodes of the ThunderCats animated series would start again.

I personally feel this line has potential and hope it manages to continue, but at this point only time will tell. Let us know what you think. Do you want to see Bandai continue their ThunderCats line or not?
