It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review!

This week we're having a look at some of the figures from the latest wave of Cosmic Legions (OxKrewe: Book One, Thraxxon) from the Four Horsemen Studios! This wave had a lot of great figures, I picked up Kurnn Ray, the Lowland Scapeback, UkHa, the Thraxxian Scout and the Campside Collection accessory set. As much as I was looking forward to the Cosmic Legions line, there hadn't been any figure that 'wowed' me in the last few mini-waves (mostly re-uses, or characters I didn't care for) but the Four Horsemen Studios decided to fix that with that first OxKrewe wave!

The story behind that wave is about a spaceship that crashed on the planet Thraxxon and the crew (or OxKrewe) is trying to survive. They meet a few other aliens, some friends, some foes. I really love when there's a story behind a wave, especially when the figures are great! Interestingly enough, I didn't pick any of the actual OxKrewe characters, but mostly the ones from Thraxxon.

Kurnn Ray is one of those characters. She was seen spying on the OxKrewe camp, but disappeared when they went to investigate. She comes with 2 heads (helmet and unmasked), 3 pairs of hands, 2 shoulder pads, a backpack , a belt, binoculars and a staff. I wanted that figure as soon as it was revealed. The helmet looks so cool. I have seen someone posted a picture of Kurnn Ray next to the Black Series Imperial Probe Droid, saying "Mother?!" and I loved it (I need to find that picture again...). The soft goods coat on this figure is amazing too, and can be used on a variety of other figures. The unmasked head is also very nice, and she looks great without the coat as well. She was last seen sending a message to her people saying "Intruders here. Come get."...

Can you believe there is already that many Cosmic Legions figures?!

The Lowland Scapeback is a wild creature that can be found all over Thraxxon, and a few packs of them were seen attacking the OxKrewe campsite. They are aggressive beasts, have heavy plates of armor and sharp spines across their body. It comes with an extra pair of feet (or paws?). The mouth is articulated and I really like the colors on that creature. A pack of them attacked the campsite, and it is only the intervention of the Veeblian named UkHa, along with a party of Thraxxian scouts, that saves the OxKrewe from becoming the Scapebacks' next meal.

"Shooo! Go away!"

Speaking of UkHa, this is such a fun alien figure. I thought it looked a bit too goofy at first, but I don't regret getting it. It comes with 2 heads (with and without goggles), 4 pairs of hands, a shoulder bag, a backpack and a staff. It has such a great design and colors. Veeblians seem to be a species of scavengers, who are fascinated by tech from outer worlds. UkHa manged to learn how to repair and use some of the items, making him revered by his own.

The Thraxxian Scout is another native of Thraxxon, a reptile-like species. They live in tribes with a primitive, yet well-structured social community, and will exhibit extreme aggression towards anything they do not understand (YAY!). The Scout comes with 2 heads (normal and angry), 6 pairs of hands, a bone club and a spear, also made with bones. I had joked that the angry head looks like the Thraxxian Scout was caught mid-sneeze, but it still looks great. Even though they helped the OxKrewe with the Scapebacks, they have also had a few violent confrontations with them that the OxKrewe is lucky to escape from unharmed...

Finally, the Campside Collection, which contains a generator, a large crate, a small crate, a computer and some cables to link them together, is more of an accessory set which will be used in cool photos. The crates can be opened (to store all accessories, for example), and the set will look great in the background of future photos with space/sci-fi vibe. I like that the Four Horsement Studios had added a set like that in all their upcoming waves (Mythic and Cosmic Legions), as those can be pretty useful and make a picture look great.

The Cosmic Legions OxKrewe: Book 2, Harrow Zone was already announced, and there were some great figures in that wave as well, like the 2 T.U.5.C.C. Empiricists, the Thraxxian hunter or the domesticated Scapeback, Bunji.

You can get those Cosmic Legions: Book 1, Thraxxon figures, as well as other Cosmic Legions figures from our sponsor BigBadToyStore.

UkHa on his own has to be my favorite in this wave. Great pics and review!

Well, nice figures overall! I like the aesthetics and at some point they cannot hide the fact that Star Wars was one heavy inspiration. That's not a bad thing though. I believe, collectors need a lot of space alien figures, the more the merrier. Oh and also I like the shapes of the accessories, the return of cassette futurism is also a high point. Great review!
