Four Horsemen Studios Figura Obscura Gods of Ancient Egypt Thoth Review and Images

This week, we're having a look at the latest Figura Obscura figure from the Four Horsemen Studios, Thoth from the Gods of Ancient Egypt. This figure came as a 'surprise drop' during LegionsCon last year for those in attendance, and I was looking forward to it being available again via their In Stock Sale, so that Thoth could join Anubis and Bastet on my shelf, along with the other Figura Obscura figures.

Just like the previous Figura Obscura Gods of Ancient Egypt figures, the packaging art is amazing, with the usual 'sleeve' that can be used as a backdrop. Thoth comes with a different backdrop than the previous ones, which depicts what looks like the entrance of a gorgeous temple. Thoth, the moon god of wisdom, writing, magic and time, comes with 2 heads and neck pieces (ones that look like statues, and ones that look like an anthropomorphic Ibis creature, like they did with Anubis and Bastet), a moon headdress for one of the heads, 3 pairs of hands, a pair of talons and a pair of human feet, a writing tablet, a stylus, 2 scepters, an ankh and a reproduction of the "Group statue of Thoth-ibis and devotee on a base inscribed for Padihorsiese" which was an actual egyptian artifact dating back to 700-500 B.C. He also comes with the magnetic sleeve/backdrop from the box and a booklet with the full story of the character and the Four Horsemen Studios details, which I always love to dive into.









I really like that those Gods of Ancient Egypt figures come with a 'statue' look, like in the wall paintings, and an anthropomorphic creature look, that looks different enough thanks to the different feet/talons and neck piece that have feathers on it, as opposed to the 'smooth' statue one, which has cracks in it. Thoth comes with a writing tablet and a stylus, with the hands to go with them. The accessories are pretty great, especially the reproduction of the statue that has a nice patina color. The soft goods and details on his outfit are amazing.
