Casey and Leo look good. I wonder how deep into the line they'll go.

Are you taking about the backing or the actual figure? Because the backing is really cool. I could totally redisplay an original figure in that.  The actual figures IMO look like Mexican bootlegs.

I really wish the Ninja Turtles could finally move on from the 80's. I love the Turtles, but I really want some new stuff. The only people they market the turtles to anymore are all 40 year old men who think the original turtles are the only good version of them. [...] At this rate the turtles are going to become outdated and I really don't want to see that happen.

Hey now, that's not true at all!

. . . We 40-yr-olds don't actually think that show was even REMOTELY any good! *LOL*

It had 1940s-style mobsters who tortured people by tickling them with feathers, and "ancient ninja techniques" named after The Three Stooges.

The '80s fandom is driven purely by nostalgia for the whole "global phenomenon" culture of the TMNT in the late '80s and early '90s.  There were (at the time) toys, video games, comics, movies, cartoons, rock and roll live stage shows, clothes, lunchboxes, it was EVERYWHERE.  We were utterly immersed in this stuff.  Quality had nothing to do with it, it was a lifestyle.  And now . . . we're just happy to get high quality action figures based on THAT.

But no, we know the show itself was pure garbage. *LOL*

Personally, I'd love to see some NECA-level figures of the 2003 series.  Great designs.  And apparently I'm one of the few or my generation who also unabashedly loves the 2012 CGI series too.

As for stagnating and becoming outdated, there's a CGI movie in the works, and supposedly a Netflix series.  Just hasn't been a lot of movement on them, 'cuz, you know, COVID life.  But still, they're out there.  So . . . not too worried. ?

The only people they market the turtles to anymore are all 40 year old men who think the original turtles are the only good version of them. How about some more comic figures at least. They had like two waves based on the new TV show and then cancelled it, so kids who love the turtles can't even have anything. I wish they would realize there is a much larger group of turtle fans that doesn't just include the fans of the original show and movies. I heard they may make a wave of turtles from the recent crossover with the Power Rangers. I would love that, but I'm also worried that it will just be some more vintage stuff based on the next mutation. At this rate the turtles are going to become outdated and I really don't want to see that happen.

playmates holds the master license. they then lease out parts of it to other companies for astronomical amounts of money. because of the sheer amount of money they are spending to be able to make these figures at all, they pick and choose very carefully what they release.

as for the "new tv show", im assuming youre referring to rise of tmnt which is definitely not new and was also cancelled. the toys sold as well as the show did so thats why you wont see anymore of those.

dc collectibles released awesome idw turtles based on their appearance in batman vs tmnt movie, you can get those if youre looking for something more modern.

Those artworks would have looked better on the Ultimates' packaging instead.
