O ring figures without Mothership = win.
O ring figures for the sane price as Reaction = win.
Will he end up seeing the O ring light? Hasbro doesn't have a patent on O-rings. If all his 5 POA figures had had ARAH articulation, I would have bought 100x more. Granted he may not want to make non Joe figures with O rings at the moment to avoid angering Hasbro, but ARAH articulated (instead of Kenner SW) Reaction figures are what I've been asking for for years!
Super7 has announced that they will be launching a GIJOE O-Ring figure line coming in Fall 2024!The figures will be based on Sunbow and DIC Animation, Comic Books, & More!
Plus - The Cobra Mothership campaign is getting an upgrade, as the Cobra Officer is moving from Tier 3 to Tier 1! That means you now get 4 figures with the base pre-order.
It looks great but pricing is kind of high... If I back it up, it will be at the end of the crowdfund to use payment plans for 12 months...???
These are trash, like most of these "super7" figures they are nowhere near worth 15-20$ each, calling these "o-ring" figures is borderline heresy, where's the o-ring?? O-ring figures get the name from the small rubber band that joins the upper and lower torso, these figures don't even have a midsection articulation! Giving your "retro" figs elbow and knee joints doesn't make them o-ring figures, I'll stick with paying the same $ or maybe $5-10 more and get the super articulate hasbro classified series with way more accessories, the super7 ultimates line is pretty cool but nowhere near worth the $55 they charge, if you wait long enough most of those even wind up 30-50% off on sites like target and Amazon shopping

If I recall correctly the most recent O-rings were exclusive to Walmart with a couple of (overpriced) Pulse 2-packs on the side. If Super7 is planning on keeping these at $15 each and can keep up its distribution with Target, Amazon, and others, we might just have something special happening here.
The recent Hasbro O-Ring stuff started out as Pulse exclusives. Walmart had a retro line that was more on par with the 25th Anniversary figures which didn't have O-Rings. Neither seemed to sell well and likely were exclusives because their wasn't enough overall retail interest to get them out at mass retail.
Problem with 3 3/4" is price, most people aren't going to spend $18-$20 for a small figure when you could spend $5 more and get a nicer more detailed 6"-7" line.
Also we have gotten all the Joe characters in modern 3 3/4" line which is why I dont think the Walmart line did well.
The use of O-ring is a nostalgia marketing gimmick. There are far better ways to give us nicely articulated 3 3/4" figures today than O-Ring, but O-rings make people think about their original Joe figures.
I see Super7 losing Target because their Reaction figures do not sell very well there

At $500 plus $100, I dont really see this funding. But, I hope they are able to continue making O-ring figures. And if so, hope they phase out reaction style in favor of O-ring.

Honestly I will also be surprised if the Mothership funds. At $300 I think it would have a shot at funding, at $500 its gonna be a hard sell.
I wonder how deep thier gonna go with the o ring figures?
