It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review!

This week, we're having a look at the One:12 Collective Batman: The Animated Series figures of Batman and the Joker from Mezco Toyz! I have never been a fan of realistic soft goods on Animated Series characters, I always thought it looked a bit off, but Mezco Toyz managed to do a great job, at least with the Batman...

Mezco announced they would be doing figures for Batman: The Animated Series 2 years ago (yep, february 2024), and I had been cautiously optimistic that these would be great. There has been some third party 1/6 scale figures with soft goods of Batman over the years, and I always thought the translation of the suit to real fabric looked a bit odd. Seeing the lines of the fabric all over his body made it look weird, and the proportions were always a bit too 'realistic' making it look like a mess. Mezco managed to avoid that by giving the figures pretty accurate body proportions at least. They come with a lot of accessories, but still not as much as the Mondo figures do...

Batman comes with 3 heads, 11 interchangeable hands, infrared goggles, a gas mask, a torch cutter, a bat radio, the batmobile remote, an infrared spray can with effect, his grapple gun with a wired grapple hook, 2 batarangs, 2 bat stars, and the usual One:12 Collective display base and stand. First off, that is not a lot of heads, I feel like 2 more would have been easy to add. The plethora of bat-accessories is nice, but most of them will either remain in the box or be stored in a baggy, while heads are always nice to have around to change in the display. The cape is wired, black on the outside and blue on the inside, and the black side has a 'vinyl-like' feel to it, which is nice, but a bit heavy and doesn't necessarily stay in 'wide open' poses. A lot of people have pointed out the logo on his chest is too close to the cape, and you'd have to pull the suit down a bit for the logo to be lower. The suit looks nice, has the right colors and all, but I can't help but see it as some sort of pajama material when looking at it from near (it can be seen on the pictures). Then again, that's just my take on the soft goods on Animated series figures. It's still a great Batman from the Animated Series, probably the best one to date, in that scale. RIP Kevin Conroy.

The Joker is another story. He comes with 4 heads, 5 pairs of hands, a bomb with 2 different effects (unlit fuse and lit fuse), a TNT bomb, a wristwatch with poison gas effect, playing cards, a pie, a cane with a hidden blade, a knife, 2 joker fishes, 2 grenades and the One:12 Collective display base and stand. For this one, the suit does NOT look good. It is too shiny, the color is too dark, it kinda looks cheap and it looks like it doesn't fit him (too big)... However, the different head sculpts really nailed it. The facial expressions immediately make me hear Mark Hamill's voice and iconic laugh. So it's both a great figure and a bad figure... on brand with the Joker.

Thanks, I didn't know thatit's a good idea to add that, by the way.

Yes, it's a plastic bag rolled up. Mezco Toyz and figma (Good Smile Company) usually have those with their figures, which is super nice.

In the photo titled BTAS(21), which shows the Joker and his accessories, whats that above the pedestal? It looks like a felt-tip pen, but I dont think it is.?
