If Superman 2 can get a Donner cut several decades later, so can the JL Snyder cut. WB can release it as an Elseworld take on the movie or a Flash time travel version with a retcon backstory to restore the timeline with this new JL version.

No, as he straight up said this is the Directors Cut he submitted to the studio. Those are film canisters.Its very expensive to print to film. He didnt do this himself, and you wouldnt print to film if the effects werent finished anyway.
Not sure why it matters to so many people that this doesnt exist or that it isnt finished, butI havent heard any reasonable explanation for why he would lie about it now.
What makes more sense, that these completely anonymous reliable studiosources are maybe not as reliable as are being claimed (certainly wouldnt be the first time) or that Zack Snyder is just trolling everyone?

Snyder has confirmed that this is NOT the assembly cut, but, as it clearly is written on the canisters, the Directors Cut. (He says the assembly cut was nearly five hours long.)
Further, Fabian Wagner, the cinematographer who worked with Snyder but not Whedon, has said only about 10% of the theatrical cut was shot by him. Thats 12 minutes out of a two-hour movie. The theatrical cut is essentially ALL Whedon.
At 214 minutes, that means this directors cut hasover three hours of footage that hasnt been released. This isnt even the Snyder cut, but the Snyder film. Its a completely different movie.
That's not really a surprise. I don't think anyone actually doubted that he has an assembly cut. But there's no way it has finished EFX and ADR, and WB would be foolish to re-invest in this thing to get it finished after already losing hundreds of millions of dollars on Justice League to satisfy a hundred thousand fanbois, many of whom would rather download a torrent of the "Snyder Cut" than buy it. If Snyder and WB want to release his assembly cut, I wouldn't mind seeing it, for educational purposes.
