Damon Gupton has announced via Twitter that his time on the Black Lightning series has come to an end. Gupton played Inspector Bill Henderson on the CW series since it debuted in January 2018.

“And that’s a wrap. My final night on the set of @blacklightning,” Gupton captioned a picture of his chair on-set. “In December before X-Mas I was told Chief Henderson is not in the plans for Season 4 and that I would be let go. My heart to a helluva hard working crew. Big praise to cast, writers, producers, staff, CW, WB.”

“Special shoutout to all the great fans who greet me in the street, airports, restaurants,” he added. “Your appreciation means the world to me. Know that I treasure it. Disappointed I’m not allowed to continue the ride with you but glad we had the time we did.”

I guess all is NOT well in the aftermath of the Crisis merging earths after all. Maybe they're deciding Freeland PD needs to have a police inspector less friendly to Black Lightning, change up the arc a bit. I for one don't like so many people knowing the hero's secret ID but I did like Henderson. Sorry to see him go.

Hopefully the new seasons will concentrate more on Black Lightning and less on his kids. Now he can do crossovers and team ups with the Flash, Argus, etc.

I wonder if they are gonna kill his character or leave the door open for him to return, maybe he should have stayed in Criminal Minds.
