Deadline is reporting that Basil Eidenbenz has taken over as the role of Witcher Eskel for the second season of Netflix's The Witcher.
Thue Ersted Rasmussen will be stepping down as from role "due to the rescheduling because of COVID-19." Rasmussen filmed scenes in late February and early March before production was shut down due to the escalating coronavirus pandemic.
Rasmussen was one of seven new cast members announced by Netflix for the second season. Production resumed on August 17th with Eidenbenz taking over the role of Eskel, a Witcher of the school of the Wolf with strong magic powers.
Eidenbenz is credit for his roles in the UK series Victoria and The Athena and Canada’s X Company.
