March 24, 2021
It is being reported by THR that actor Pierce Brosnan has been cast for the role of Dr. Fate in the upcoming Black Adam movie which will star Dwayne Johnson.

Brosnan will play Kent Nelson, aka the good Dr. Fate, a son of an archeologist who was taught sorcery skills and given the magical Helmet of Fate. The character is one of DC’s oldest, having first appeared in a 1940s comic

Other character slated to appear in the movie include Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Black Adam of course is a follow up to the 2019 Shazam movie. The movie is expect to start production some time next month.

If I can't get Simon Baker for Aquaman, then casting him in the role of Kent Nelson/Dr. Fate would be a great alternative.

This one is crazy. Maybe 30 years ago this woulda been perfect, but at this time it seems like there'ssomething to be said about how WB feels about the longevity of the DCEU. By the time this thing hits Pierce is gonna be pushing 70. He looks great for his age, but how many more is he gonna have in him after that?

I just hope the DCEU somehow gets on track with one of these projects, but with the somewhat catty announcement that there is no way in hell that the Snyder Cut will not become DCEU cannon, it pretty much looks like they intend to start from scratch (again).

Supposedly Black Adam is happening in the past of DCEU, so by the time Black Adam meets Shazam there will be new Dr. Fate or he will just transfer helmet to new host like Zatarra.

That's some great casting, this movie is really trying to create its own mini dc universe, they aren't just doing isolated hero thing like it's 2004, maybe we can even get Superman cameo in after credits who knows, at leastDwayne really wants it, unlikeWarner Bros. peoplewhoare too lukewarm on connected universe idea after Justice League and BVS didn't earn Billion.

I approve. I just hope he doesn't take off the helmet.
