'Grendel' Series Not Going Forward At Netflix

For unknown reasons at this time, Netflix has put a stop to the green-light on the eight-episode order of Grendel, a series based on the masked vigilante from Matt Wagner’s popular, award-winning Dark Horse comic book series. The streaming service agreed to the series over a year ago which would follow Hunter Rose, a gifted fencer, writer, and assassin as, seeking to avenge the death of a lost love, he goes to war with New York's criminal underworld, only to realize...why beat them, when you can join them?

The series stars Abubakr Ali, the first Arab Muslim male actor to portray a series lead in a comic book adaptation. The project is written and executive produced by Andrew Dabb with Dark Horse Entertainment's Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, Chris Tongue, and comic creator Matt Wagner as executive producers.

Additional cast included Jaime Ray Newman, Julian Black Antelope, Madeline Zima, Kevin Corrigan, Emma Ho, Erik Palladino, Brittany Allen, and Andy Mientus.

Netflix stopped production of the series after a majority of filming was done for the series, with currently a partial eight-episode season completed. The producers now have the option to shop the series elsewhere.

I know this is going to be an live-action adaptation but just have a feeling that it would be way better if it was an animated version. They would be able to pull off some much more if it was animated.

However a live-action has my attention...
