María Gabriela de Faría, the renowned Venezuelan actress recognized for her roles in Fox comedies Animal Control and The Moodys, will be joining the cast of James Gunn's highly anticipated movie, Superman: Legacy.

In this film, de Faría will portray the character Angela Spica, also known as The Engineer. As a member of the villain team in the Warner/DC production, Angela possesses extraordinary powers derived from nanotechnology integrated into her own body. The Engineer, created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch, is the second DC character to bear this name and was initially introduced in The Authority vol.1 #1 in 1999.

Superman: Legacy serves as the inaugural title in a revamped lineup of DC films, marking James Gunn's directorial debut as co-head of DC Studios. The movie will delve into Superman's journey as he grapples with reconciling his Kryptonian heritage with his upbringing as a human. He embodies the values of truth, justice, and the American way, guided by the compassion and kindness that is often dismissed in today's world.

Joining de Faría in this ensemble cast are previously announced actors such as David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason/Metamorpho.

Despite the challenges posed by the recent WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which have caused delays for numerous other projects, James Gunn has confirmed that Superman: Legacy will maintain its scheduled release date of July 11, 2025. Gunn, who also penned the script, draws inspiration from the iconic characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The film is produced by Peter Safran, co-boss of DC Studios.

Shooting has concluded, and Deadline has reported that sources suggest Alan Tudyk has a role in James Gunn's Superman that has not yet been disclosed.

Tudyk has an extensive history with DC-related characters, including voicing the villain Doctor Phosphorus, who emerges from a nuclear plant meltdown, in Gunn's forthcoming Max animated series, Creature Commandos, as well as portraying Joker and Clayface in the Max animated series Harley Quinn.

Jimmy Olsen's best appearance is in "The Nail." What a fascinating What If that story is.

Director James Gunn celebrated the 86th anniversary of Jimmy Olsen's debut by unveiling the official image of Skyler Gisondo portraying the photographer from the Daily Planet.

Happy Anniversary to Supermans pal, Jimmy Olsen, who debuted on this day in 1941 (although he did appear earlier as office boy in Action Comics 6). Created by Jerry Siegel, Joe Shuster & Bob Maxwell. I cant wait for you to see @SkylerGisondos portrayal in #Superman on July 11, 2025. @dcofficial @superman

I won't say anything until I watch that movie ...!

Yeah, I mean, it's the Kingdom Come logo basically, which was cool for that story, but I would prefer a more classic version for a movie - unless the movie IS Kingdom Come, of course, which this one is not. Why do they always want to mess with it, anyway? Even the Snyder-verse symbol had werid, minor tweaks that made it look off. The Superman Returns one was pretty close and probably the best "modern" take, but still - why mess with...perfection?

I'm from the school of "if it ain't broke, keep your hands off it"....its not horrible, but really not seeing a reason to change it. Oh well.

I'm guessing he's playing Steve Lombard. He's a perfect fit for the character. Just needs a mustache.Edit: I was right
