Get ready, Superman July 11th 2025.
Maybe the suit will grow on me. Maybe there will be more than one suit in the movie?! I just feel Supes classic suit is being a little overlooked and there's just a little too much influence from his other suits (i.e. Kingdom Come, New 52).

It appears that the purpose of sharing the image was to showcase the costume, rather than to imply that it was a scene from the movie.

If the idea is just to show off the Suit and nothing else, I agree that it's a Fail, because instead of taking about how awesome or crappy the suit is, everyone is talking about how Lazy, Uninterested, and/or Tired Superman is. All they had to do was show either the Actor just standing around in the Suit, or for an even more confident feel for viewers, show him in a Heroic or "Superman" Pose, with either a neutral background, or against a basic sky, city view, top of a building, etc. Maybe even have the Clark Kent Ripping his Shirt to reveal his Superman suit. Instead, they have him taking his time suiting up as an attack on Metroplios is going on.
However, if the idea of this photo is not only to show the viewers the Suit, but also give us an idea of the tone of the Movie, then it's possible that this photo may have been staged that way on purpose. Like I stated before, I recalled hearing that this movie is going to feature a Superman who has been doing this for a while. So maybe the idea is that years of him being Superman is beginning to take it's toll on him mentally. And given the title, "Superman Legacy", it could even deal with the idea of what type of influence and legacy he's trying to show humanity, even if humanity may have no interest in it. Well, that's an idea I have.
But yeah, if the idea was just to show off the suit, could of just done what I stated in the 1st paragraph.
To give an example, here's a link from a Spider-man Films Wiki on what was I believe the 1st revel of the Sam Rami 2002 Spider-man film, showing off the costume for what I believe was the 1st time(It's the 1st image I can recall). It basically shows you Spidey in a crouching pose on top of a building, giving you a pretty good look a the suit. Even if it's at night, the lighting still allows you to see the suit's details:

And here's a link from Entertainment Weekly on an article and photo on the 1st photo of 2012's The Amazing Spider-man film. It shows a him unmasked with scratches on both his face and suit, with a dark and some shadows, sort of affecting us seeing the full suit. He seems to be looking down in sadness, or maybe even defeat, as suggested by the scratches. And I recalled someone on a message board(Maybe it was Marvelous News, I don't remember), saying that it look like he had a "Spider-Accident" on the crouch area. The photo suggested to me at the time that this was going to be a bit of a "Dark"/"Gritty", and a bit more "Serious" take of the character:

Looking at this photo, and from what I recalled hearing being that this is suppose to be a Superman who has been around for a while, it kind of gives me a weary of being Superman feel. Kind of like "Sigh. Another day, another attack on Metropolis. Better suit up I guess". Maybe that's the direction they are going with this movie.
Because otherwise, if this is suppose to be a classic/standard hopeful Truth And Justice style Superman, I would of expected a more Heroic or Action Pose. Something that seems a bit inspirational. Here's hoping we get more photo shoots down the road, especially in a heroic or action pose.

and he didn't have time to wash or dry clean it before either ?
Laser space eye. Brainiac?
....... but after a while looking at it, I definitely see influences of the New 52 era suit
I'm actually not interested much in Superman than that giant eyeball shooting a death ray in the background.

Much like Superman appears to be in that image?
