The origins of superheroes are often their best stories too. And certainly make for the most coherent films.

Who is even this gold armor guy? Looks like the Destroyer but that's from Marvel Thor stories...
From what I read of the leaked screenings, there is no real story either. It's just "Lex Luthor tries a new way every day to kill Superman". The same random weirdness as All-Star Superman was (boy that movie was bad). Instead of us getting an introduction to Superman and maybe to understand why Lex hates him so, nope. There is literally a scene instead where a giant tentacled energy monster (Solaris I think) attacks Metropolis and Superman is just talking to Lois and not doing anything while the Justice Gang fights it in the background. Typical (bad) Gunn humor.

The suits for Gardner, Hawkgirl and Mr. Terrific are all Maxwell Lord uniforms. Terrific's looks correct but the other two will probably change it up if they don't work for Lord after the movie is over. I think it says JG on their chest plates which stand for Justice Gang. It's supposed to be a joke reference to Justice League International. I think Fillion is perfect casting for Gardner and the hair is perfect.
So far the only thing this Superman has going for it is that it's the first Superman movie to cast an actress who actually looks like Lois Lane. I'm not impressed with any other aspect. And the attempt to shoehorn the entire new DC universe into it reminds me of Cruise's Mummy.
I still don't like this costume, the color and the logo are okay but I don't like the shape of the suit, it looks too thick, like armor, (I could imagine something more like that on a Batman.) the red little pants look too wide, compared to Cavill it's a step backwards. It reminds me a bit of Brandon Routh's costume, although I think that's better than this. The whole thing looks a bit too childish (especially compared to the previous one). (Dog in a cape, I beg you) So the lame costume, the dog trampling his dying master (acting totally silly), the lame robots blinking and also wearing capes (lest they catch a cold in the cold? )(But they're wearing Earth numbers and not Kryptonian.), the fortress looks and acts like an observatory, and we haven't seen everything yet. Like it's trying to be a parody.(I hope it's not) And they crammed in a bit too many characters, wonder dogs, robots, Luthor, Kaiju's, other aliens, Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl, Green Lantern, etc. Just don't let Superman become a supporting character in his own movie. (The Music looks atmospheric.)
July is looking like my favorite month this year. Supes, F4 and dinosaurs? I'm a happy camper
