Maybe they will do another ship and crew this time around??"Space, the final frontiter. These are the voyages of the starship Farragut, it's five yea....""These are the voyages of the starship Constellation....""These are the yoyages of the starship Potemkin...""...the starhsip Excalibur...""... Kongo..."...Lexington.."Y'know......getting the cadence right could be.............tricky.............
And I am not watching the new one too the Allisons truly destroyed this franchise
If Paramount gets WB, I can see them not making as much Star trek content in the near future, since it won't be the only potential franchise cash cow they would have, which can be good cause Paramount might give more careful consideration to whatever next Star Trek project might be.
I'm cautiously optimistic about it. I did like their previous works. If they restart with yet another Kirk & crew story then forget it.
"Fresh interpretation"....in other words, attempt to exploit the fame and gravitas of the original shows and movies, because they know they haven't any original notions that would actually sell. Rodenberry got it right and deciding to "go in another direction" just hasn't worked out, for the movies or for tv.
Sure, the "you haven't seen it yet" crowd will chastise this view, and its a valid point. But to that I say, Neither have You.
I'd add that, given the previous offerings we've seen over the years, my disdain is justified.
But hey...prove me wrong, and I will be the first to admit it. In fact I would be GLAD to be wrong on this.

I loved Alice Eve and the uniforms in the first two movies, but I thought the stories were awful and that Pine didn't watch a single episode of TOS before trying to be Kirk.
