The Batman Sequel Updates: Major Villain Returns, Another MCU Star Set To Join Cast

The Batman - Part II has officially confirmed the return of a major villain. According to Variety, Barry Keoghan will reprise his role as the Joker, following his introduction in 2022’s The Batman. Keoghan’s portrayal of the Clown Prince of Crime was first seen at the end of the film, with Paul Dano’s character, the Riddler, being sent to Arkham Asylum. A deleted scene featuring an encounter between Keoghan’s Joker and Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne was subsequently released.

While Keoghan’s involvement has been confirmed, it has not yet been established whether the Joker will serve as the primary antagonist in The Batman - Part II. It remains possible that another actor could take on the central villain role, with further details expected to emerge in the coming months.

One potential candidate is Sebastian Stan, who is reportedly in discussions to join the project, reuniting him with fellow MCU stars Scarlett Johansson and Keoghan.

The Batman - Part II is slated for theatrical release on October 1, 2027.

Would be great if she played...nobody, I'd love to not have to see her in every single damn movie, she's so thirsty, I'm worn out by her, cast like any other capable actor..give somebody who is less fortunate some work.

I keep expecting this movie to be cancelled. Why put so much effort into a film universe you plan to fold up (Gunn is going to have his own Batman)?

I would guess because the first movie made a lot of money. And The Penguin show being a hit also helps too.

Phantasm would be awesome but everyone would call it if that character's in the movie.

well Gunn brought over a lot of actors from his Marvel Guardians movies to DC

After seeing her as Black Widow in so many Marvel superhero projects for so long, it will be difficult for me to separate her from that character and accept her in a DC superhero project.

The thought of a Marvel actor in a DC film led me to recall Amalgam comics. An Amalgam movie would be so cool.
