Following the closure of Muppet*Vision 3D at Disney's Hollywood Studios last year, Brian Henson has confirmed the experience will live on in VR form. The preserved, archived, 3D film will let users select different seats within the virtual theater, allowing for varied, 360-degree perspectives of the show. While designed for the Apple Vision Pro, the experience is expected to eventually be available on other VR headsets and platforms.
The show was recorded during a special event in May 2025 before its permanent closure on June 7, 2025. The attraction, a staple for 35 years, was one of the last projects Jim Henson worked on. The area is being redeveloped into a Monsters, Inc.-themed Monstropolis land.
No official release date or pricing has been announced.
I remember seeing this as a kid, and it was the best 3D Ive ever seen, before or since. Such a shame they shut it down. Glad its still accessible in some way.
