According to a Deadline exclusive, Fox and Hulu have ordered two seasons of
Stewie, a new animated comedy spinoff from
Family Guy centered on the Griffins' brilliant, sometimes evil, toddler. Created by Seth MacFarlane and produced by 20th Television Animation, the series will follow Stewie's preschool adventures, exploring subjects like time travel and space. The show is scheduled to debut on Fox during the 2027-28 season, with next-day availability on Hulu and international streaming on Disney+.
Stewie will join Fox’s existing lineup of long-running 20th TV Animation hits:
Family Guy and
American Dad! (both by MacFarlane), as well as
The Simpsons and
Bob’s Burgers. All four received four-season renewals in 2025. By giving
Stewie a two-year order, all five shows will now be renewed through 2029—coinciding with the expiration of Fox’s $1.5 billion in-season streaming deal with Hulu, owned by Disney’s 20th TV.
Stewie will include nods to
Family Guy and feature guest appearances but will chiefly focus on Stewie’s daily life at his new school, introducing new characters and storylines. MacFarlane will continue voicing Stewie and serve as executive producer for Fuzzy Door. This project marks Fuzzy Door’s second
Family Guy spinoff—the first was
The Cleveland Show, which aired on Fox for four seasons.
