Final Destination: Bloodlines Duo Working on Metal Gear Solid Film

Sony Pictures is developing a Metal Gear Solid feature film adaptation, with Final Destination: Bloodlines directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein attached to direct. The project, based on Hideo Kojima’s acclaimed stealth-action game, represents a major push by Sony to turn the spy-fi title into a film franchise.

Lipovsky and Stein, known for their work in suspense/thriller genres, have signed a first-look deal with Sony, with Metal Gear Solid being a major project. The film is being produced by Avi and Ari Arad, known for their work on various comic and game adaptations.

Metal Gear Solid (originally released in 1998) follows Solid Snake, a special forces soldier who infiltrates a nuclear weapons facility, and is known for its cinematic, high-suspense storytelling.
