Legendary puppeteer and television producer Sid Krofft has passed away at age 96. Alongside his brother Marty, Sid revolutionized 1970s Saturday morning television with their colorful, imaginative, and puppet-filled fantasy worlds.
Sid and Marty (who passed in 2023) dominated children's TV in the 1970s co-creating H.R. Pufnstuf, Land of the Lost, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, Lidsville, and The Bugaloos. Sid also produced popular adult/family variety shows including Donnie and Marie and The Brady Bunch Variety Hour. He was honored with a lifetime achievement award at the Daytime Emmys on 2018 and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2020.
Sid died in his sleep from natural causes at the home of his friend and business partner, Kelly Killian, in Los Angeles. Before his death, he was finalizing two books about his life and developing new children's programming.
