Dune 3 Team Debuts First 7 Minutes of Film at CinemaCon

Warner Bros. concluded its CinemaCon 2026 presentation by debuting the first seven minutes of Dune: Part Three, the final installment in director Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi trilogy. The opening sequence begins with pounding drums and a siren over the studio logos. It transitions to a violent storm in space where some ships are destroyed while others plunge toward an unknown planet's surface. On the ground, a rain-soaked battle unfolds as Fremen forces, led by Stilgar (Javier Bardem), charge into combat against an unidentified enemy. A giant tower emerges from the ground and begins a massacre of the Fremen army. Brief glimpses show a face-off between Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya).

The film picks up 17 years after the events of Dune: Part Two. Along with Bardem, Chalamet and Zendaya, the film features Robert Pattinson, Rebecca Ferguson, Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Jason Momoa.

Momoa appeared on stage to confirm his return as a "ghola" (a resurrected clone) of Duncan Idaho.

Villeneuve described this final chapter as more of a thriller that is faster-paced than the previous two films. Dune: Part Three is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 18.
