Paramount Announces Huge Slate of Franchise Films

Paramount announced a slew of new projects on the way at CinemaCon. Among the officially confirmed projects was Top Gun 3, in development with Tom Cruise set to return as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell. The sequel will reunite Cruise with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, following the nearly $1.5 billion success of Top Gun: Maverick. Ehren Kruger is writing the script, with plans to potentially continue the story with younger cast members like Miles Teller and Glen Powell.

The project comes as Paramount continues to heavily invest in proven franchises. It was also confirmed at CinemaCon that there are plans to develop new G.I. Joe, Transformers, and Star Trek films. We will report on these projects as more information becomes available.
