James Ortiz, the stage performer and master puppeteer behind Project Hail Mary’s spider-like alien Rocky will be submitted by Amazon MGM Studios for Best Supporting Actor in the next film awards’ cycle. Variety has confirmed that Ortiz’s work is eligible for Academy Award consideration in acting categories, based on current rules. In addition, his work is eligible for the Actor Awards, where puppeteers fall under SAG-AFTRA jurisdiction. He would also be eligible for a Critics Choice Award and a BAFTA as they have no explicit guidelines that would exclude him. However, under the Golden Globes’ existing rules, his work will not be considered.

The Martian had a lot of heart, but it was based on pure science and logical thinking, which is what saved his life. This I thought at first to be a parody. Like, randomly, the Sun is dying and apparently there is only one guy in the world, an elementary school teacher, who can save it, and they just shoot him into space without a team or any help whatsoever?

Based on their previous movies, I do not expect much from Lord and Miller. I found most of their jokes just pure cringe.

I love how this looks! Feels very "The Martian", and that's a great thing.

Its been a while since there has been a good disaster movie (at least that I can think of recently). This looks like it might be one with an alien thrown in the mix. Looks fun!
