We do not want a buddy cop western, where the heroes fight what, cowboys and local robber barons with guns? That's as dumb as golden age Superman was when he went up against friggin' gangsters with tommy guns.
Also, where is the green? Where are the uniforms, the powers? And Hal and John act nothing like they should. Hal should not be world-weary and relaxed and bored. He is the recruit who is restless and prone to break rules, but he gets results, that's why the Guardians keep him around. And John should be the more serious ex-military man with something to prove. This "training" where Hal just leaves him in a speeding car... WTF.
I am betting they will be fighting someone Gunn would like because he is super obscure... like Goldface. Honestly, I will wish Ryan Reynolds was back. At least that movie had amazing designs for the alien GLs, and did not forget that the Green Lantern comics were space operas with space cops. Not two middle aged guys solving some mundane crime situation in Nowhere, Nevada. Not wearing uniforms or using their rings.
Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, - Ah that explains a lot. The creator of the terrible Watchmen show that just exists to destroy the legacy of the movie/comic's characters, and the writer of the abstract and terribly depressive and boring Mr Miracle comic? Which I think, is also getting turned into a cartoon...
Both actors have fairly visible and active movies. Kyle Chandler was in two Godzilla films. Aaron Pierre was also in the high profile films that Google can que you in on.
Lots of ques seem to be take from the Earth One GL series...which is more rugged and down to earth. The uniforms are there but the point is...Hal is playing a lower key GL than Nathan Fillon's Guy Gardner...intentionally. It's comparing/contrasting the two with a new guy seeing it. He's literally "breaking the rules" by being the kind of lantern he is in the show...and the point is he's dam effective at his job.
The trailer shows John being ex military....but all of that still doesn't equate to being able to ring sling without basic training. Let's wait till the show comes out before we fully write it off. The trailer isn't meant to do anything more than perk our interest.
And Watchmen is a GOAT show imho.

Riiiiight. The guy who repeatedly says he's a huge comic nerd and has specifically cited the works of John Ostrander, Grant Morrison, Paul Kupperberg, Tom King, and Tom Taylor as inspiration for the DC projects with his name on them says he hates comics.Where did you get that crap? I'm serious. Be specific. Cite a source for any of these "multiple occasions."

And I hear he is adapting that terrible Mr. Miracle comic too. Seriously, whom does this appeal to apart from a few of the newer, more experimental DC fanboys? I would want something that IS like the comics, but in a TV serial format. I loved Swamp Thing, I wish it wasn't cancelled. Doom Patrol started out well but went into navel gazing, and mostly forgot that the original comic it was based on also went nowhere. But stuff like that Creature Commandos show... Like seriously, who buys that this nowheresville princess would have been able to take over the world? With what, her stupid laser gun knights who were so lame, Circe's incel army (yes that is a real thing in that show) easily kill most of them? And she had to set up some double whammy fakeout with an out of place Clayface just to get Argus to actually believe her? Then the show spent a ton of time introducing characters and then killing off the only likeable one. What a waste.
Gunn's Suicide Squad pretty much revitalized the DCU!! I am a HUGE Snyderverse fan but sadly...Whedon tanked it when he was bought on board.
The Mr. Miracle comic got rave reviews and if adapted will be like the comics.
Creature Commando's works best NOT taking itself seriously because of the concept of monsters employed as a black ops unit...and it served to set up Rick Flag Sr for taking Waller's spot because CC are basically a junior Task Force X. So folks are just as expendable as SS and even Peacemaker...that's literally the point.
Superman even got good reviews. Basically until Gunn screws up royally (and so far he hasn't)...I think DC is happy to let him keep doing what he's doing. Time will tell but I have no complaints so far

You can just torrent it? Or use the many free online sites? I certainly won't pay for this thing...
But as far as I know, Paramount+ and HBO Max will be merged by then into a new service. I assume if you are subscribed to one you'll get the new version too.

I don't know if the show will be any good butAaron Pierre as John Stewart appears to be one of the best castings in recent live-action comic book adaptations. Maybe among the best ever. The dude looks and sounds like he stepped out of a GL comic/cartoon.

I am pretty sure the slow burn will make the GL full reveal more impactful...and (once again) knowing how Gunn operates...that action beat will be something special
