The BBC Studios Kids & Family team is co-developing a 10-episode, live-action television adaptation of the classic fantasy story Kiki’s Delivery Service. This major global project is a collaboration between the UK's BBC Studios, independent production house Wheel in Motion, and Japanese publishing giant Kadokawa Corporation.
The series is a direct adaptation pulling from Eiko Kadono's original 1985 book and a not remake of the Studio Ghibli film. It will feature 10 episodes with each to run for 30 minutes. Irena Brignull who penned The Boxtrolls and The Little Prince will write the scripts.
While most fans instantly think of Hayao Miyazaki's iconic 1989 Ghibli anime, sticking to the original six-volume novel series gives the BBC team plenty of room to explore fresh storylines and character layers that never made it into the animated classic. Original author Eiko Kadono is heavily involved and has given the project her full blessing.

this I'm kinda into, Howl's moving Castle could be cool in live action, I mean maybe Spirited Away as well, but in reality we have great movies we don't need more.
