The first one has a few funny scenes (mostly involving Dr. Evil), but it's actually kind of a chore to watch from beginning to end. There are a lot of jokes that simply don't land and some scenes just go on and on (mostly involving Elizabeth Hurley's character talking to Powers).

I always thought the movies couldn't decide if they are parodies of the 70s (where they fail miserably) or of James Bond movies (where they really only succeed with Blofeld).

There is nothing I hate more then Austin Powers, I never want that again...nothing is funny about that, Mike Myers is so done he can't do anything good for the life of him so why would this be? like Austin Powers is over..why? UgH, I don't want to sit across a bar from someone using lines from Austin Powers to entertain his friends..
