The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania, the fifth animated feature in Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania franchise, has been dated for theatrical release on October 8, 2027. The pic is being co-produced with Amazon MGM Studios, following the deal that gave Prime Video exclusive streaming rights to the fourth installment, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, during the Covid lockdown.
Launched in 2012 from an original concept by Todd Durham, the Hotel Transylvania films center on a monster resort run by Dracula — voiced by Adam Sandler in the first three films — and his daughter Mavis, voiced by Selena Gomez. Andy Samberg also starred as Johnny, the human whose arrival upends the hotel and Mavis’ life. The franchise’s three theatrical releases, in 2012, 2015 and 2018, grossed $1.38 billion worldwide.
