Disney+’s Afterlife with Archie Sets Halloween 2027 Release Date

Disney+ has officially greenlit a live-action, hour-long horror drama series based on the acclaimed Afterlife with Archie comics. Produced by Warner Bros. Television, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and Greg Berlanti, the zombie apocalypse adaptation is slated to premiere just in time for Halloween 2027.

The series order comes roughly nine months after the project originally landed a script-to-series commitment. Aguirre-Sacasa, who previously helmed Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, will be adapting the popular comic to bring the eerie tale of Riverdale's undead to streaming audiences.

Deadline reports the narrative will follow Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead as a supernatural spell goes horribly wrong, forcing the teens to fight for survival and pushing their relationships to the limit.
