'Warhammer 40,000' Animated Series In Development at Amazon

As reported by Variety, Amazon MGM Studios, Blur Studios, and Games Workshop are collaborating on an animated event series based on "Warhammer 40,000." Henry Cavill is an executive producer on both the animated series and the live-action adaptation.

This new series will be a continuation of Amazon's animated anthology series "Secret Level," which featured a "Warhammer 40,000" episode during its debut in late 2024. Blur Studios produced "Secret Level," while Games Workshop is known for creating the tabletop miniature wargame.

Dave Wilson, who directed the "Warhammer 40,000" episode and served as the supervising director for the show, is now co-creating and directing the upcoming animated series alongside John Orloff.

While specific story details are not yet disclosed, the series is expected to center around the Deathwatch, an elite group of Space Marines tasked with combating alien threats.

Tim Miller, the creator of "Secret Level," will serve as an executive producer alongside Wilson for Blur Studios. Cavill and Natalie Viscuso will also serve as executive producers, joined by Roy Lee from Vertigo Entertainment and Andy Smillie from Games Workshop. The series is being developed collaboratively by Amazon MGM Studios and Games Workshop.
