Uli Latukefu Lands Villain Role Of Ganondorf In Sony & Nintendo's 'The Legend Of Zelda' Movie

As reported by The New York Times, Australian actor Uli Latukefu is set to portray the primary antagonist Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda, a live-action feature film produced by Sony and Nintendo, inspired by the widely acclaimed video game.

Latukefu will be joining the previously announced cast members, including Bo Bragason, who will take on the role of Zelda, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who will portray Link.

The project, being directed by Wes Ball, has producers Miyamoto and Avi Arad on board. The latest draft of the screenplay was written by T.S. Nowlin. The film is scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 7, 2027.

The Legend of Zelda franchise, created by Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka, debuted on Nintendo in 1986. The storyline revolves around the elf-like hero Link and Princess Zelda as they endeavor to rescue the enchanted realm of Hyrule from Ganon, a malevolent warlord who transforms into a demon king.

Latukefu is recognized for his role as a young Dwayne Johnson in the NBC sitcom Young Rock, which aired for three seasons, and has appeared in films such as Black Adam.
