The Leprechaun returns, and Lionsgate is set to deliver it to audiences.
Horror industry veterans Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan are on board to write and produce this new installment, which will be developed under their Koulest Productions banner. Dan Heffner and Ketura Kestin will serve as executive producers for the film.
This marks Oren Koules' second significant horror franchise with Lionsgate, having previously produced all ten films in the Saw series, which collectively grossed over a billion dollars at the box office. Additionally, this represents Lionsgate's second venture with the Leprechaun franchise. In 2024, Felipe Vargas was slated to direct a version based on a script by Mike Van Waes, with Roy Lee and Miri Yoon attached as producers.
The Leprechaun franchise is a cult horror-comedy series centered around a murderous, wisecracking Leprechaun who will eliminate anyone who dares to interfere with his pot of gold. Spanning eight films released from 1993 to 2018, the franchise began with the original film directed by Mark Jones, featuring Warwick Davis as the vengeful leprechaun — a role he reprised in six films. Notably, Jennifer Aniston appeared in the first film, marking one of the earliest roles in her career.

Wanna talk about a franchise that just flew off the rails really quick, it's this one, was the first movie even good, No, I never would have thought it would get as far as it did, I mean once they were in Space, then the Hood and then the Hood again, I was like...how is this even a thing? I can't believe Warwick Davis still isn't embarrassed to make these movies.
