Disney+ Orders Spaceship Earth Sci-Fi Pilot Inspired by EPCOT Attraction

Disney+ has ordered a sci-fi television pilot based on Spaceship Earth, the iconic time-travel attraction housed within EPCOT's famous giant geodesic sphere at Walt Disney World. The project follows a mission to prevent a global catastrophe that brings together teenagers from different points in Earth’s past and future as they confront a vast and mysterious threat.

Jason Fuchs (IT: Welcome to Derry) is set to co-write the pilot and serve as showrunner under his Five Ten Productions banner. Michael Waldron (Loki, Avengers: Doomsday) also co-wrote the pilot and will executive produce through his Anomaly Pictures banner. Lee Toland Krieger (You, Riverdale, Shadow & Bone) is attached to direct.

The pilot must first pass Disney’s evaluation process before the streamer decides whether to move forward with a full-season order. Should Spaceship Earth receive a series pickup, the project is not expected to premiere on Disney+ until 2027 or 2028.
