The Pitt Cast To Perform Star Trek Table Read For Writers Guild Foundation

The cast of the hit HBO Max medical drama The Pitt will perform a live table reading of the classic Star Trek premiere episode, "The Man Trap," to celebrate the 60th anniversary of both the franchise and the Writers Guild Foundation (WGF). The special event takes place on Sunday, August 30, at 7:00 PM at the Lodge Room in Highland Park, Los Angeles, and will also be streamed live globally.

Members of The Pitt will swap their hospital scrubs for Starfleet uniforms to fill the iconic original roles with Noah Wyle as Captain James T. Kirk, Taylor Dearden as Spock, and Katherine LaNasa as Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy. Ayesha Harris, Fiona Dourif and Shabana Azeez will also play featured roles.

Originally broadcast on September 8, 1966, "The Man Trap" is the first-ever aired episode of Star Trek, famously featuring a shape-shifting, salt-vampire alien.

Part of WGF's "Retro Reads" series, the evening will feature live musical scoring by Philip Krohnengold.

All ticket and streaming proceeds directly benefit the Writers Guild Foundation to support its public programs, the Shavelson-Webb Library, and the Veterans Writing Project.
