Coco 2 Release Date Announced at D23

Benjamin Bratt appeared at D23 to announce that he will reprise his role as the legendary spirit-world singer Ernesto de la Cruz in Coco 2. The sequel is scheduled to open in November 2029.

In the film Miguel is now a teenager rather than a young boy. Bratt teased the character dynamic by saying, “He’s a little menace who ruined a career and destroyed a legend,” adding that “Ernesto de la Cruz is back for revenge…proving that fate has twists.”

The original Coco, released in 2017, grossed $822.4 million worldwide, ranking as the No. 27 animated movie of all time globally.
